Khuram Javed ACA MSc BSc (Hons)
After completing his undergraduate degree in Computer Science and masters degree in Accounting and Financial Management, Khuram qualified as a chartered accountant with a regional West Midlands firm. He gained a wide variety of experience, in particular working with owner managed businesses. Khuram further went on to work for the Worcester office of a national practice as well as the Midlands office of a top 10 audit firm, where he gained considerable experience in audit and assurance. During his working life Khuram has worked with a large variety of organisations from small sole traders through to large group subsidiaries, PLC's, Pension Schemes and Not for Profit entities. He also has considerable experience in advising businesses on compliance and taxation matters being a venture capitalist and shareholder in various different OMB's.
Khuram is one of the founding members of DKR and former Chair of the Worcester Group of Chartered Accountants. He works closely with the other partners to ensure each client receives a service that is unmatched by local practices. His belief is that to understand a client and their needs you need to be able to offer more than a number crunching service. This is backed up by an array of client testimonials and working relations both in the UK and abroad with clients as far as Africa and Asia.
Outside of work Khuram enjoys spending time with his family and dabbling in the odd bit of DIY. He is also a keen traveller and enjoys working within the local community as part of his role within an international charity.
Scott Wheatley ACCA FMAAT
Scott qualified with a local Sandwell practice, gaining considerable experience in a number of disciplines particularly management reporting and corporate taxation. Post qualification Scott worked for a local office of a Top 30 firm where he managed the audits of small and medium sized companies as well as working with a range of academy schools. He has particular expertise in owner managed internal structures and accounting systems.
Scott has a particular interest in VAT and spent a number of years working alongside various businesses consulting on VAT matters and required schemes.
Currently Scott works closely with Khuram on advising new businesses and ensuring client expectations are met. He is responsible for reviewing business internal frameworks and current VAT schemes as well as ensuring directors and proprietors understand the requirements of record keeping.
Scott's passion outside of work is his local football club West Bromwich Albion and he is the accountant for his local church.
Ian Bright ATT MAAT
Ian began his career almost 20 years ago with HM Revenue & Customs where he was an HM Inspector of Taxes undertaking investigations into all types of businesses.
After qualifying as an Associate of Accounting Technicians Ian left HM Revenue & Customs to take up a position with one of Birmingham's largest independent accountancy practices where he undertook further training and qualified as an Associate of Taxation Technicians. Ian currently heads up the HMRC compliance and Investigations work at DKR. In his spare time Ian enjoys reading and cooking trying different cuisines from around the globe.
Esfak Mohmed ACA BSc (Hons)
After qualifying with the “Big 4” firm Deloitte, Esfak moved onto PwC to specialise in taxation. His years at the “Big 4” enabled Esfak to gain a considerable amount of exposure to specialist tax areas and HNW’s.
In recent years Esfak has been providing tax consultancy and technical support to accountants, tax planning boutiques and OMBs. He has also been busy in developing bespoke tax planning solutions working closely with leading Tax Counsel for clients using trusts and offshore structures notably employee benefit trusts and EFRBS. Esfak heads up the firms Tax department and works closely with clients to understand their needs to tailor suitable planning solutions.
Outside of work Esfak is heavily involved in translating historic manuscripts and providing a community knowledge initiative. He is also an avid football fan, watching more than playing these days. His latter years in University saw him nursing a broken Jaw as a result of one particular game. This however did not prevent him gaining a first class honours degree.
